How do parents go about getting a coaching change? Any suggestion?

I dont think you will like the responses to that question. First off unless the coach is causing an unsafe enviroment I dont think the parents should have a dang thing to do with it. If you are unhappy about win/loss or kids playing time too bad get you kid to work harder and change things that way.

Not wanting an argument. The kids do work hard. So a losing record year in and year out is not a condition to remove a coach. Does this apply to boys sports or just girls?

Knowing who is out in the Nuke tourney, would this have to do with WJ's coach or Firth's coach?

Just asking a question. Not wanting to bash anyone. Why shouldn't parents have a say? We pay out tons of money and time.

we are talking about public Schools right?  Paid for by taxpayers dollars AKA Parents.  Thats where the Buck Stops!!!!!  If Kids in Math Class are getting D and F year after year,  I think a teachers review is warranted.  No different for a Coach who is also a teacher.

We as Parents have that right Since we are the ones paying for it!!

I would start with your School Board representative.

I'm curious as to which team is posting a losing record year-in and out from WJ or Firth because they both have had a good year. It was a tough district all year with close games between all the teams. It was bound to be a rough tourney as well.

It would be nice to just have people stay on the topic instead of trying to figure out everyone's secret identity. No it wasn't a good year. Not when everyone expects more. 1 district tournament win in 4 years.

I guess the point that I was making is if your not happy with the results the first place to look is the players. If the players are giving 110% and they are still losing it may not be the coaches fault. Somtimes especially in smaller high schools you just dont have the athletes. Now if the coach is not doing a good job then I would talk to the AD first since that is their supervisor. If the coach is not doing his job year in and year out then it is the AD's responsibility to get them to shape up or ship out. I just have a problem with parents getting involved using the tax payer excuss. There is always going to be an unhappy parent and they all dont have grounds to go after someones livelyhood.

Well, I suspected it was Firth based on your previous posts. Try to remember which District you play in because it's produced 3 state championship teams in the last four years as well, with one team taking 3rd the one year a Nuke team didn't win (after losing in the semi's to the eventual champion). It's a tough District and has been for the last seven-eight years. And besides, if memory and IdahoSports.com is correct, Firth went to State as the District Champions just three years ago and was in the State Championship game under Coach Cook about five or six years ago. Maybe one win in District Tourney in the last 3 years would be more accurate, but Firth had a young team the last two years. All I can say is that I don't think Coach Cook has failed as a Coach at Firth. She is well respected in the District and the State, from what I've heard from other coaches. Firth had a very good team during the regular season, and it has been a hard-fought District Tourney. I just suggest that you focus on the positives and ask the coach what you/your daughter can do to help build a stronger team.
