4A & 5A

Who are the Preseason Favorites? I think in 5A Post Falls seems to have a strong team..Am I wrong? In 4a, Preston has to be the favorite to win it all. Full disclosure, I am from Eastern Idaho, so I am more familiar with the teams over here. Also, I'm even more familiar with the 4A teams from the High Country Conference. I'll take a stab at what I expect and hopefully there will be others that (more)

Is Eastern Idaho 4A better than Eastern Idaho 5A again this

year? Preston beats Rocky in close game Saturday. Can this year's Preston team be as good as the State champions of the last 2 years. Using comparative scores an argument could be made that Preston 2 years ago was better than 5A champion Highland(Connor Harding) especially against the Northern Utah teams. It will be interesting to see how Century and Highland do this year against each other. (more)

Favorites to win it all in 2A

Alright footballs over so lets get to pickin. Who is the favorite to win the Championship in 2A and who is your Dark Horse team? For me I pick Bear Lake as my favorite and as my Dark Horse team I think the Hornets from Declo are going to keep the magic going.

Reffs and game film

Just a question for any past or present officials. Do any of you watch game film of your own games?

Question for the Idaho Statesman's Michael Lycklama...

Dear sir, I am having trouble finding the local prep basketball box scores on line. Are they hiding somewhere under a new heading? Thank you in advance for your answer...

Three man officiating- Can we help make it happen

http://www.nwprepsnow.com/stories/2017/jun/28/greg-lee-idaho-needs-three-man-basketball-officiat/

I know this has been discussed before, but lets rehash this since this is a new development. The IEL has been using 3 officials since 2005 and now sees it as a disadvantage for their teams when they go to state. So the coaches voted to not continue being the test dummy for the state. When (more)

Football Fans vs Basketball Fans

I was at a basketball game recently and could hear some fans getting pretty revved up at the officials and yelling at them. I've been to football games and heard people get pretty gnarly at the officials too. My question is this: Are fans harder on basketball or football officials? My opinion is that they are harder on basketball officials because the fans are closer to the play and have a (more)

Shot Clock (I know its been asked before)

Why doesn't Idaho have a shot clock at the high school level? These are some of the Arguments I have heard against the shot clock at the high school level: • The high school game does not need the shot clock. It is in good shape as it is. • A shot clock takes away strategy from some coaches to slow the ball down to match up to the opponent. • Some committee members are opposed to “state (more)

Jamborees tonight and some games Saturday

Century has a jamboree tonight with Bonneville and Minico coming. Preston plays at Burley with two state contenders I believe Saturday afternoon if my information is correct.
