With the playoffs just three weeks away, which teams are sitting pretty and which teams are on the bubble?
With just three weeks of regular season competition remaining, Idaho's best high school football teams are beginning to make postseason preparations.
From here on out, we'll take a look each week at the playoff bubble, and calculate which teams are projected to appear in the playoffs and which teams are destined to stay home.
In the case of conference races that feature multiple teams tied for first place, we'll defer to the team with the higher MaxPreps rating in our projections. Overall records are listed first, followed by conference records.
Without further ado, let's get to Bubble Watching!
Now that I.F.'s season is over, thank God. Time to focus on the post season.
This year's 4A playoffs look very intriguing. I feel that Bishop Kelly will more than likely take it all, but Minico might have other plans.
What really surprises me is Skyline's rank at 2. The Grizzlies got smoked against Rigby and Stansbury by 26 in the Rocky Mountain Rumble. They also lost to Bonneville though it was a close game.
Meanwhile Minico is 8-1 and they are lower than Skyline? Minico's only loss was to Ridgeline out of Utah and it was only by a point.
So, does Max Preps rank the teams? If so, I don't feel they're doing the best job.
Do the 5 league winners in 4A automatically get seeded in the top 5 or can they be as low as 8th?
Why are higher seeds playing lower ones? Is that how it would be for the whole playoff tournament or just the first round?
Great write up and article!
There are a lot of big games this weekend that could shape how the playoffs look. Which one do you think is the biggest?
